Opposition Slams Amit Shah’s UCC Remarks, Claims Public No Longer Deceived
Opposition leaders criticize Amit Shahs UCC comments, asserting public skepticism towards BJPs promises ahead of elections.

New Delhi, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : Central Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent statement regarding the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttar Pradesh has drawn sharp criticism from opposition parties. Leaders from the Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) have attacked the BJP, asserting that the public no longer trusts such announcements.
In Patna, senior Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay ridiculed Shah’s claims, stating that the BJP’s credibility is waning. He remarked, “During the Lok Sabha elections, they claimed they would win 400 seats, but they didn’t even secure a majority. Their statements hold little significance now.”
Rakesh Sinha, another Congress leader from Ranchi, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the BJP will not form a government in any state moving forward. “The people of Uttar Pradesh are serious. They will not hand power to a party that steals offerings and votes. The public will not be misled this time, and the BJP will not govern,” he asserted.
Sinha also targeted the Chief Election Commissioner, suggesting that Gyanesh Kumar must resign. “If Gyanesh Kumar goes, the BJP will not be able to form a government in Uttar Pradesh under any circumstances,” he added.
In Ranchi, JMM leader Manoj Pandey dismissed Shah’s UCC comments as nonsensical. He questioned the validity of such promises, stating, “They have been in power for ten years. Why haven’t they implemented these changes before? If they have the power, they should do it now. This is just empty rhetoric that makes the public laugh.”
Pandey further criticized the BJP’s approach, questioning their sincerity and commitment to their promises. “These are just false claims,” he concluded.
