Lucknow, August 3: During the Uttar Pradesh Assembly session, state ministers Dayashankar Singh and Ashish Patel addressed the opposition’s protests regarding the Ram Temple donation controversy, the acquittal of Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, and the political stance of the Congress party. Both leaders launched verbal attacks on the opposition while defending the NDA government.
Minister Dayashankar Singh remarked that the day was not meant for regular assembly proceedings but to pay tribute to a senior member of the Samajwadi Party. He criticized the opposition for failing to grasp the seriousness of the occasion, claiming they chose to stage a political performance instead of honoring their senior leader.
On the topic of the Ram Temple, Singh challenged the Samajwadi Party, stating that true devotees of Lord Ram would visit Ayodhya for darshan. He accused the opposition of not contributing to the temple’s construction or donations but now attempting to present themselves as staunch devotees. He suggested that before raising questions about the Ram Temple, the opposition should atone for their past mistakes by visiting the temple and seeking forgiveness.
Discussing Sanatan Dharma, Singh emphasized the unique characteristic of tolerance within Hindu society. He noted that while deities are often mocked, the Hindu community endures it, whereas similar actions against other religions spark international controversies. He warned that some individuals exploit this tolerance for their own gain.
Regarding the acquittal of former BJP MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, Dayashankar Singh welcomed the court’s decision, stating that it revealed the truth to the public and congratulated the judiciary for its ruling.
In response to writer Taslima Nasreen’s comments about madrasas, Singh stated that it was her personal opinion, as she frequently expresses her views on various subjects.
Meanwhile, Minister Ashish Patel criticized the Congress party, claiming it has no substantial issues left to present to the public. He noted that the political ground for Congress in Uttar Pradesh is steadily eroding, with even its own members distancing themselves. Patel accused Congress of attempting to divert public attention from real issues.
He asserted that the NDA government has accomplished more developmental work than the previous government between 2012 and 2017. Patel concluded that the public is evaluating the government based on development and good governance, and the NDA has successfully gained the trust of the people through its actions.
