Telangana Leader Urges Chief Minister to Seek Water from Karnataka Amid Crisis
Amid a water and drought crisis, a Telangana leader urges CM to negotiate with Karnataka for water supply.

Hyderabad, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : In Hyderabad, as Telangana grapples with a severe water and drought crisis, Chief Minister Revant Reddy’s recent appeal to farmers to delay planting has drawn sharp criticism from opposition parties. Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) Telangana president, Srikaru Shivaji, has called on the Chief Minister to engage with the Karnataka government to secure water resources.
Speaking to a news agency, Shivaji questioned the implications of telling farmers not to work in their fields. “If farmers do not go to their fields today, what will we eat? What is the alternative? You are asking them not to do this or that; how will a farmer sustain themselves?” he emphasized.
Shivaji pointed out that Karnataka has ample water resources and is governed by the Congress party. He urged CM Reddy to bring water from Karnataka to benefit the people of Telangana.
“Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has visited Telangana multiple times. He has assured us in several meetings, saying, ‘We will come, we will support you, and we stand with you.’ As the current Chief Minister, you can reach out to him, and he can provide water,” Shivaji stated. He believes this could significantly enhance agriculture in Telangana and ensure the safety of its farmers.
The Shiv Sena leader stressed that the power to act lies with Reddy. “Water is available in our neighboring state of Karnataka. You should talk to Rahul Gandhi, engage with the Karnataka government, and save Telangana,” he urged. He questioned the effectiveness of the Chief Minister’s statements and the future of farmers and the people of Telangana if such issues are not addressed.
Additionally, Shivaji criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that anyone obstructing India’s development could be considered treasonous. He remarked, “The people of India are fully aware of who is genuinely contributing to the country’s progress and who is attempting to hinder it.”
On the topic of alleged electoral fraud, Shivaji accused the opposition of creating drama, claiming they are using excuses like vote theft and issues with electronic voting machines to mask their failures. “They know they will not receive votes or public support, which is why they are staging this drama,” he said.
He concluded by urging the public to recognize who is truly working for India’s development and who is trying to impede it.
