Strengthening the Fight Against BJP: Harendra Malik Urges Chandrashekhar Azad to Join SP
Harendra Malik calls on Chandrashekhar Azad to unite with SP against BJP ahead of Uttar Pradesh elections in 2027.

Muzaffarnagar, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : Political activity is heating up in Uttar Pradesh as parties gear up for the 2027 Assembly elections. In this context, Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Harendra Malik has urged Chandrashekhar Azad, the national president of the Azad Samaj Party and MP from Nagina, to join forces with the SP to strengthen their fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Speaking to reporters, Malik emphasized that the political landscape in Uttar Pradesh is essentially a contest between two parties: the Samajwadi Party and the BJP. He pointed out that those who support the BJP will back it regardless, while those wishing to see the BJP defeated should rally behind the SP, which he claims champions the cause of the marginalized.
Malik extended an invitation to Azad, encouraging him to support the SP and work together, whether in battles against the Election Commission or other political challenges. He noted that all secular parties should unite to strengthen the fight for the disadvantaged.
He also addressed concerns about vote-splitting, suggesting that if Azad fears his votes might be wasted, he should focus on ensuring they do not get divided.
Regarding the upcoming MLC elections for the graduate and teacher constituencies, Malik recounted issues faced by himself and others in casting their votes. He mentioned that former Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan left after voting, and they discovered their names were missing from the voter list, allegedly removed. He criticized the behavior of some election officials, stating that while the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police acted correctly, the Additional District Magistrate and an inspector did not.
Malik vowed to continue fighting for accountability in this matter. Recently, the Azad Samaj Party held a workers’ conference in Morna village of the Mirapur Assembly constituency, where Azad commented on the possibility of an alliance with the SP, suggesting that he would prefer to lose than collaborate to defeat the BJP.
