Beijing, September (Udaipur Kiran News)OnePlus is skipping the “14” series and heading straight to the OnePlus 15, with its official launch set for October in China. Teasers from Louis Lee, President of OnePlus China, confirm that the flagship will debut with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and run Android 16-based ColorOS 16.

Display and Design Changes

One of the most notable upgrades is the 165Hz flat display, moving away from the micro-quad curved design used in earlier models. The corners are more rounded, bezels look slimmer, and select games will be able to run at 165fps natively — a rare feat for smartphones.

Unlike past models that relied on dual-chip setups for frame interpolation, the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 reportedly handles this process natively, though efficiency improvements remain unconfirmed.

However, reports suggest the display will use a 1.5K resolution, a step down from the 2K panels of previous flagships.

Performance and Hardware

  • Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

  • RAM: Up to 16GB

  • Battery: 7,000mAh with 120W fast charging

  • Performance: Early Geekbench scores put it close to Apple’s A19 Pro in single-core performance and ahead in multi-core results

  • Gaming: OnePlus is developing its own gaming engine for sustained performance and power efficiency

Cameras and Imaging

The Hasselblad partnership may be coming to an end, with OnePlus rumored to introduce its own imaging system for the OnePlus 15. Details on the new camera setup remain under wraps.

Launch Timeline

The OnePlus 15 is expected to launch in China this October, followed by a global rollout in early 2026.

If the leaked details prove accurate, the OnePlus 15 could emerge as one of the most performance-focused Android flagships of the year, appealing strongly to gamers and power users.
