Lucknow, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : Om Prakash Rajbhar, the president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and a cabinet minister in Uttar Pradesh, has launched a fierce attack on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Rajbhar criticized Yadav’s slogan of “PDA” (Backward-Dalit-Minority) as a mere facade, alleging that Yadav harbors a negative attitude towards Dalits and their leaders.
Rajbhar pointed out that during Yadav’s government, numerous statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar were destroyed, and incidents of atrocities against Dalits surged. He noted the inconsistency in Yadav’s representation of PDA, stating that he sometimes refers to it as Backward-Dalit-Minority and at other times as Pandit-Dalit-Ahir or even as Half Population.
The minister accused Yadav of harboring disdain for Dalits, claiming that he is particularly irritated by statues of Dalit leaders. Citing incidents from 2012 to 2017, Rajbhar stated that the Samajwadi Party’s goons vandalized numerous statues of Dr. Ambedkar in districts like Jaunpur, Mau, Sitapur, and Azamgarh.
Rajbhar also recalled a specific case from Agra, where a Dalit village head was beaten to death by Samajwadi Party members simply for not voting for them. He asserted that under Yadav’s administration, crimes against Dalits increased significantly, and the record of statue vandalism during that time remains unparalleled.
He highlighted that even today, cases of atrocities against Dalits in Uttar Pradesh primarily involve Yadav and Muslim communities, who are the core supporters of the Samajwadi Party. Rajbhar referred to the infamous 1995 Lucknow Guest House incident, suggesting that Yadav’s party members had intentions to harm BSP leader Mayawati, which was thwarted only by the timely arrival of BJP leaders.
Rajbhar criticized Yadav’s claims of supporting Dalit rights, arguing that the violence against Dalit women during his tenure was well-documented. He expressed that the current Yogi government is restoring respect for Dalit leaders and providing them with a renewed identity. He mentioned that the government has allocated ₹500 crore for the renovation and beautification of parks honoring these leaders.
Additionally, Rajbhar mocked Yadav’s blue scarf, implying that it symbolizes his past misdeeds. He stated that Yadav’s attempts to align with Dr. Ambedkar for electoral gains are futile, as the blue scarf serves as a reminder of the 1995 incident involving Mayawati.
He accused Yadav of dismantling reservation policies and initiatives named after Dalit leaders, asserting that under the current government, the dignity of these leaders is secure. Rajbhar concluded by suggesting that if Yadav had adopted a more respectful attitude towards Dalit leaders during his time in power, progress could have been made. He warned that the mindset Yadav currently holds will not succeed in the upcoming 2027 elections.
