Old Delhi Triumphs Over Outer Delhi Warriors in DPL 2026 Eliminator

New Delhi, August 27: Old Delhi 6 secured a spot in ‘Qualifier-2’ of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 by defeating the Outer Delhi Warriors by 7 wickets in the eliminator match. They will face Central Delhi Kings on August 28. This loss shattered the Warriors’ championship dreams.

Batting first after losing the toss at Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Outer Delhi Warriors were bowled out for 179 runs in 19.4 overs. They lost their first wicket at a score of 28, with Yajus Sharma (12) dismissed early. Priyansh Arya and Akshay Saini formed a crucial partnership, adding 73 runs for the second wicket in just 39 balls, pushing the team past the century mark.

Akshay scored 42 runs off 26 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 6 fours, while Priyansh contributed 57 runs from 32 balls, including 3 sixes and 7 fours.

Monu Shukla (12) and Shivam Sharma (19) added 28 runs for the seventh wicket in 13 balls, helping the team reach a competitive total. Rajneesh Dadar from the opposing team took the most wickets, claiming 3, while Digvijesh Rathi, Uddhav Mohan, and Dev Lakra each took 2 wickets.

In response, Old Delhi chased down the target in just 14.5 overs. They lost their first wicket at 18 runs with Samarth Seth (5) dismissed early. Aryan Gaud then partnered with Dev Lakra, scoring 67 runs for the second wicket in 33 balls.

Aryan made 36 runs off 23 balls, hitting 6 boundaries. Captain Anuj Rawat and Dev Lakra then added 51 runs for the third wicket in just 27 balls, steering the team towards victory. Dev scored 82 runs off 32 balls, smashing 8 sixes and 6 fours. Anuj, alongside Lalit Yadav, formed an unbeaten partnership of 47 runs in 19 balls, leading the team to an easy win.

Anuj finished with 52 runs off 25 balls, including 5 sixes and 3 fours. From the opposition, Aman Chaudhary and Pratham Saluja each took 1 wicket.
