Mumbai, March 15: Nubia has launched an innovative initiative called the “Nubia Shrimp Farmer Program.” This program aims to recruit beta testers for the OpenClaw AI integration on the Nubia Z80 Ultra. Selected participants will have the opportunity to test the system before its public release, providing valuable feedback to enhance the AI experience through real-world usage.
The Nubia Z80 Ultra is set to be the world’s first smartphone to feature native OpenClaw integration. Unlike most smartphones, where AI operates as a separate application or cloud service, Nubia has embedded OpenClaw directly into the phone’s operating system. This integration allows the AI to interact with apps, settings, and system functions in a more intuitive manner.
Ni Fei, President of the ZTE Terminal Business Unit and Nubia Technology, referred to the device as a “Gateway-type AI phone.” It supports ClawBot scenario-based applications and provides access to a wider Skills ecosystem, enabling the AI to automate tasks and function across multiple services. Launched on October 22, the Nubia Z80 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Ultra (5th generation) processor and boasts a 50MP 35mm “Master Eye” main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and DCG dual conversion gain HDR technology. Additionally, Nubia offers an optional photography kit to enhance camera capabilities. The phone is priced starting at 4,999 yuan (approximately $730).
