Nitin Gadkari Praised as Visionary Leader at Save the Earth Conference

New Delhi, April 22: Maharashtra Minister Ashish Jaiswal has hailed Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as a visionary leader. He stated that Gadkari’s comprehensive guidance at the ‘Save the Earth’ conference on Wednesday exemplifies his foresight as a leader. Jaiswal emphasized that Gadkari has consistently worked to steer the nation in the right direction.

In his remarks, Jaiswal elaborated on the state’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. He praised Gadkari’s address, noting that it reflects the thinking of a forward-looking leader. According to Jaiswal, Gadkari has not only guided the country but has also successfully implemented several innovation-driven projects in Nagpur, setting a benchmark.

In an interview, Jaiswal mentioned that the Maharashtra government is taking concrete steps to develop the state as a model for environmental conservation. He highlighted that extensive plans are being formulated in crucial areas such as afforestation and water conservation. He assured that a proposal would soon be presented to the cabinet to ensure large-scale implementation.

Jaiswal stated that the state government’s goal is to strike a balance between development and environmental protection, fulfilling the commitment to achieve both “development and heritage.”

He further noted that Maharashtra has made significant strides in sectors like mining and MGNREGA, which have been recognized nationwide. Under the ‘Save the Earth’ initiative, the state government has set an ambitious target of planting 300 crore trees. This initiative is part of the ‘Developed Maharashtra 2047’ vision document, and efforts are underway to meet this target within the timeline set by the recently passed state budget.

Former MLC Pasha Patel praised Gadkari’s emphasis on biofuels. In a conversation with a news agency, he remarked, “People living in Delhi are saying that the city has become a ‘carbon chamber.’ This is being echoed worldwide. It is also claimed that if a villager lives in Delhi, their life expectancy may be reduced by about 12 years. We need to protect the Earth from carbon emissions. The ‘Save the Earth’ campaign must now be launched across the country.”
