Netanyahu Warns of Hezbollah Threats Amid Ongoing Military Operations

New Delhi, April 28: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu participated in a meeting with senior commanders of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to discuss the security situation in Lebanon, ongoing military operations, and threats associated with Hezbollah. During the meeting, he praised the military’s actions.

Netanyahu stated, “We have achieved significant accomplishments in Lebanon. We have dismantled the rocket system that posed a threat to the entire country. We have established a security zone that prevents incursions into northern Israel and now also stops anti-tank missile attacks. This also gives us the capability to change the situation in Lebanon.”

He emphasized, “We are still conducting operations. We have complete freedom to thwart immediate and emerging threats. This is the same agreement we have with the United States and the Lebanese government.”

Netanyahu acknowledged the challenges ahead, saying, “I am not under any illusions that this will be easy, and honestly, I do not think the job is done. There are still two major threats from Hezbollah: the danger of 122 mm rockets and the threat posed by drones and UAVs.”

He stressed the need for a combined military and technological effort to address these issues, noting that the Defense Minister and Chief of Staff are well aware of this. “We are undertaking a substantial technological effort to resolve these problems,” he added.

“If we can address these threats militarily and technologically, we will effectively move towards disarming Hezbollah, as this is their primary weapon. They now have about 10% of the missiles they had at the start of the war. These still pose a problem for people in the northern areas, and I greatly appreciate their courage and resilience.”

Netanyahu concluded, “We still have two tasks ahead. I expect you to solve these two problems because I believe that if we resolve the military and technological aspects, the diplomatic aspect will also resolve itself.”

Earlier, PM Netanyahu praised IDF soldiers, saying, “I have heard their personal stories. Their commitment, sacrifice, and the path they have chosen have impressed me. Israel is the only country in the Middle East where the Christian community not only remains safe but thrives, grows, and succeeds. I salute you for your service, courage, and tremendous contributions to the State of Israel.”

In a related incident, Foreign Minister Gidion Sa’ar had to apologize over the destruction of a statue of Jesus Christ. He stated on social media platform X, “I am confident that strict action will be taken against those responsible for this disgraceful act. We apologize to all Christians whose feelings were hurt by this incident.” The IDF also assured that strict actions would follow after an investigation into the matter.
