Jerusalem, March 8: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in a live broadcast that Israel’s attacks on Iran will continue with full force and without any agreements.
Netanyahu emphasized on Saturday that Israel has a well-prepared plan with several surprises aimed at weakening the “Iranian regime” and creating conditions for change. He asserted that the goal of this plan is to undermine the current power structure in Iran and facilitate a transition.
Addressing the Iranian people, Netanyahu remarked, “The time for truth is approaching. Our aim is not to break Iran but to liberate it and live peacefully alongside it.”
He also criticized the United Nations, claiming that it unjustly condemns Israel in the ongoing conflict against Iran-linked groups in Gaza while taking no action regarding the violence in Iran.
Additionally, Netanyahu urged the Lebanese government to strictly enforce the ceasefire agreement and compel Hezbollah to disarm. He warned that failure to do so could lead to severe consequences for Lebanon due to Hezbollah’s aggressive actions.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that after a week of fighting, the U.S. has significantly weakened Iran’s military. However, he indicated that the U.S. is not currently seeking an agreement with Tehran.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Saturday, Trump noted that the initial actions in this conflict have dealt a major blow to Iran’s military. The U.S. and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28.
According to Trump, “We have nearly destroyed their navy. Forty-four of their ships have been eliminated. Their air force has also been decimated, with almost every aircraft destroyed.”
He added that U.S. strikes have severely impacted Iran’s missile capabilities and launch infrastructure.
Trump reported, “We have destroyed about 70 percent of their rocket launchers.” He also mentioned that acquiring such systems is very difficult and expensive.
He concluded that the reduction in launcher and weapon production capabilities has significantly diminished Iran’s ability to retaliate. Now, Iran’s capacity to launch attacks has dropped to approximately 9 percent of what it was in the first two days of the conflict.
