Missing Woman from Karol Bagh Found in Jammu and Kashmir After 39-Hour Rescue Operation

New Delhi, March 14: A woman who went missing from the Karol Bagh area of Delhi was successfully located by police within approximately 39 hours. She was found near the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. The swift action, technical investigations, and relentless efforts of the Delhi police played a crucial role in this operation.

The incident dates back to March 9, 2026, when a resident of Siddhipura, Karol Bagh, filed a complaint at the DBG Road police station, reporting that his wife had disappeared from their home. The family conducted extensive searches on their own but turned to the police for assistance when they could not find her.

A special police team was formed to investigate the case, led by Sub-Inspector Sumit Singh from the Siddhipura police post. He was supported by Head Constables Suresh and Dharmendra Singh under the guidance of Inspector Randhir Singh from the DBG Road station. The operation was monitored by ACP Paharganj.

During the investigation, the police utilized technical surveillance. They examined call detail records (CDR) and reviewed CCTV footage from surrounding areas. These technical inputs revealed that the missing woman had traveled to Jammu and Kashmir with an acquaintance.

Following this lead, the police team promptly decided to leave Delhi for Jammu and Kashmir around 1 AM on March 10, taking the woman’s husband along. The team maintained continuous oversight of technical information during the journey and reached Katra around 2 PM.

Upon arriving in Katra, further investigation of the CDR location and CCTV footage indicated that the woman had visited the sacred shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. The police team then initiated a thorough search in the Katra and Vaishno Devi areas.

After persistent searching and technical analysis, the police team successfully located the woman at approximately 4:39 AM on March 11. During questioning, she revealed that she had been experiencing significant mental stress and emotional turmoil, prompting her to leave home for some peace and solitude.

After completing all necessary formalities, the police safely returned the woman to her family.
