Nepalese Cricketers Soar in ODI Rankings After Stellar Performances

Dubai, May 20: Nepal’s cricketers have made significant strides in the ICC ODI rankings, thanks to their outstanding performances in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. Last week, Nepal secured consecutive victories against the USA and Scotland, with their bowlers playing a crucial role in these wins.

Among the standout performers was experienced all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee, who took four wickets against the USA. This impressive display propelled the 26-year-old up three spots to 79th in the ODI bowlers’ rankings. His all-round performance also saw him climb three positions to 25th among ODI all-rounders.

Nepal’s spin duo also saw improvements in their rankings. Sandeep Lamichhane moved up six places to a joint 36th, while Lalit Rajbanshi climbed 16 spots to a joint 53rd.

Despite these advancements, Afghanistan’s all-rounder Rashid Khan remains dominant in the ODI bowlers’ rankings with 705 rating points. His teammate, Azmatullah Omarzai, continues to hold the top spot among ODI all-rounders.

Scotland’s in-form player, Brandon McMullen, also made notable gains in the rankings. After scoring a career-best 73 runs against Nepal, he climbed two spots to sixth among all-rounders and moved up six places to 53rd in the ODI batsmen’s list.
