Neeraj Kumar Advises Opposition on Integrity in Politics

Patna, June 4: Neeraj Kumar, the chief spokesperson for the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)), responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s achievement of becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in independent India. He criticized the opposition, stating that Modi’s tenure reflects the strength of Indian democracy.

In an exclusive interview with a news agency, Kumar emphasized that while some accuse the government of undermining democracy, it is essential to remember that the Prime Minister was elected democratically, not appointed. He advised the opposition that if they work honestly and remain dedicated to the public, they too could have the opportunity for long-term service. He quipped, “If you remain consumed by jealousy and hatred, you may suffer from high blood pressure in politics.”

Kumar expressed deep sorrow over the recent deaths caused by a fire at a private hospital in Muzaffarpur. He reported that the fire allegedly broke out around 3 AM in the ICU, endangering the lives of critically ill patients. He described the incident as tragic and unfortunate. The JD(U) spokesperson noted that the district administration has formed a five-member committee to investigate the matter and has been instructed to submit a report promptly.

He mentioned that Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced compensation for the families of the deceased. Additionally, directives have been issued to determine administrative accountability and to investigate whether the hospital adhered to the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Strict action will be ensured against those found guilty after the investigation.

Kumar also sharply reacted to recent comments made by former West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee. He stated that her arrogance and political vanity are evident in her remarks. Banerjee’s statement that those who wish to stay in the party may do so, while others can leave, reflects her hubris. Kumar claimed this attitude is why TMC mayors and legislators are defecting from the party. He sarcastically noted that if this trend continues, even the staff working in her office and at her home might consider leaving the party.
