NCP Clarifies No Confusion Over Maharashtra Legislative Council Elections: Chetan Tupe

Pune, June 1: Chetan Tupe, a legislator from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), addressed concerns regarding the party’s nomination of two candidates for the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections. He stated that there is no confusion or worry within the party. Tupe emphasized that the nomination process adheres to electoral rules and legal provisions to avoid any disruptions in the election process.

He affirmed that the NCP is operating in complete unity under the leadership of senior leaders and National President Supriya Sule. Tupe explained that the Election Commission’s Form ‘A’ and ‘B’ includes provisions for both the main candidate and an alternate candidate. He noted that if any technical errors, document deficiencies, or legal hurdles arise during the nomination process, the alternate candidate is in place to ensure the election is not affected. This legal provision is why the party submitted two nominations.

Tupe announced that Vikram Kakade has been designated as the main candidate, while Sunil Tingre has been nominated as the alternate candidate. Both leaders have been authorized by the party leadership and have submitted their nomination papers under the guidance of National President Supriya Sule.

He stressed that there is no need for political speculation regarding the submission of two nominations. This action is a standard and legal measure to maintain a smooth electoral process and to prepare for any unforeseen circumstances. Tupe concluded that the NCP is fully organized and is executing its electoral strategy according to the directives of the party leadership. The party’s goal is to ensure that any technical issues during the nomination process do not impact election results or the validity of the candidates.
