NCB Trains 26 Maharashtra Police Officers as Master Trainers

Ghaziabad, July 31: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has successfully trained a batch of 26 Maharashtra police officers, ranked inspector and above, as master trainers in the enforcement of the NDPS Act.

This five-day program concluded on Friday, as confirmed by an official.

In a message shared on the social media platform X, the NCB announced the completion of the course, stating, “Building on the success of the first Trainer of Trainers (ToT) program held from April 20-24, 2026, the NCB successfully conducted a second five-day ToT program for Maharashtra police officers from July 27-31, 2026, in collaboration with BPR&D-CDIT, Ghaziabad.”

The statement further noted, “Under this program, 26 officers ranked inspector and above were trained as master trainers in the enforcement of the NDPS Act.”

With the successful completion of both programs, the NCB indicated that Maharashtra police now has 56 master trainers, enhancing the state’s capacity for drug law enforcement.

Earlier, on Thursday, joint coordination committee meetings for the second quarter of 2026 were held for Madhya Pradesh and Assam. These discussions focused on coordinated actions against drug trafficking and sharing intelligence with other law enforcement agencies.

According to an official statement, the Joint Council (JCC) meeting for Madhya Pradesh took place in Bhopal, while the meeting for Assam was held in Guwahati.

The discussions emphasized joint inquiries, financial investigations, coordinated enforcement operations, and the dismantling of drug gangs, reaffirming all agencies’ commitment to a drug-free India.

The JCC meeting in Bhopal was co-chaired by the NCB’s DDG (Western Region) and the ADG, ANTF, Madhya Pradesh. The meeting included representatives from NIA, SIB, IT, Customs, CBN, RPF, the state prosecution department, and the Food and Drug Administration office, as well as state excise officials.

In the second quarter JCC meeting held in Guwahati, officials discussed strategies to strengthen coordinated actions against drug trafficking.

The meeting was chaired by R. Sudhakar, NCB’s Deputy Director General (NER), and included participants from ANTF, Customs, CGST, Income Tax, DGGI, SIB, NIA, ED, DRI, Drug Controller, Assam Rifles, BSF, ITBP, and district superintendents of police.
