Chhattisgarhs Free Solar Power Scheme Transforms Lives in Dhamtari

The Prime Ministers free solar power initiative is significantly reducing electricity bills for residents in Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh.

Dhamtari, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : In Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, the Prime Minister’s free solar power scheme is proving to be a blessing for local residents. Under this initiative, households are installing solar panels on their roofs, significantly lowering their electricity costs. The program aims to provide affordable and sustainable energy while promoting energy conservation and self-reliance.

Rudra Prakash Sahu, a beneficiary of the scheme, shared his experience after installing a three-kilowatt solar power system on his home. Since the installation, his electricity bill has dropped to zero. Sahu received subsidies totaling ₹1.08 lakh, with ₹78,000 from the central government and ₹30,000 from the state government, which eased the financial burden of setting up the system.

Previously, Sahu faced high electricity bills that caused him considerable stress each month. However, with the solar panels now in place, he no longer worries about monthly payments. The system generates electricity for his household, and any surplus is sent back to the grid through net metering. He mentioned that the government is expected to compensate for this excess energy in the future, providing him with potential financial benefits.

The Prime Minister’s free solar power scheme encourages the use of solar energy in homes. The subsidies offered help alleviate the financial burden of installing solar panels, while also fostering awareness about energy conservation and environmental protection.

Expressing gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sahu acknowledged the economic relief the scheme has provided. He praised the Prime Minister’s initiatives aimed at benefiting the common people and noted that the solar energy system has resolved his electricity bill issues, allowing him to contribute surplus energy back to the grid.
