Mumbai, April 9: Renowned South Indian actress Nayanthara, accompanied by her director-producer husband Vignesh Shivan, visited the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday. The couple engaged in prayers and rituals, immersing themselves in devotion as they sought blessings from Lord Venkateswara (Balaji).
Both were seen in traditional attire, conversing as they entered the temple. They performed their worship with heartfelt sincerity. After their visit, temple officials presented them with a beautiful silk shawl, a token of the temple’s special blessings.
Nayanthara is set to appear alongside Yash in the upcoming film “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups,” where she is expected to portray a significant character, rumored to embody the look of ‘Ganga.’
The Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, located in the Tirumala hills of Chittoor district, is one of the most visited Hindu pilgrimage sites dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Known as ‘Kaliyuga Vaikuntha,’ this temple attracts thousands of devotees daily, who come to seek blessings and partake in the famous ‘Tirupati Laddu’ prasad.
Over 2000 years old, the temple has been developed by the Chola, Pandya, and Vijayanagara kings. A special service called ‘Ashtadala Padapadmaradhana’ is conducted every Tuesday between 6 AM and 7 AM, where devotees can participate in the worship of Lord Venkateswara. This ritual includes the offering of 108 golden lotuses at the feet of Lord Srinivasa, accompanied by chanting of mantras.
This tradition began in 1984, following the offering of golden lotuses by a devotee during the golden jubilee year of TTD. To participate in this service, online booking or special entry tickets are required through the TTD website.
