New Delhi, August 7: Narottam Mishra, a senior BJP leader and former minister from Madhya Pradesh, stated on Friday that he does not seek any official position within the party. Instead, he wishes to continue contributing through the responsibilities assigned to him. He expressed gratitude for the opportunities the party has provided him over the years.
In an interview, when asked about his current role within the organization, Mishra said, “As far as my role is concerned, I do not want any position; I want to work for the party, just as it has allowed me to do so far.”
He highlighted his recent contributions, noting, “After losing the election, I was appointed as the coordinator for the state joining team. When the Maharashtra elections came, I was given work there; during the Delhi elections, I was assigned tasks; and when the Bihar elections occurred, I was also entrusted with responsibilities. I hope the party continues to assign me such duties.”
Mishra expressed his appreciation for the party, stating, “The party has given me a lot. It kept me as an MLA for 30 years and made me a minister for 15 years. I am grateful to the party for all it has done for me.”
Regarding his meeting with BJP National President Nitin Naveen, Mishra mentioned, “I have not met anyone, nor have I requested a meeting yet. When I come next time, I will definitely meet everyone. They are our leaders, so I need to meet them.”
On the ticket distribution for the Datia by-election, he affirmed that the party’s decision was correct. He remarked, “I believe the candidate selection was appropriate because Ashutosh Tiwari is a dedicated party worker. He is an honest activist who has devoted most of his life to the party and the nation.”
Mishra has served as the Home and Health Minister in the Madhya Pradesh government and has also been an MLA from Datia.
