Bhopal, August 7: The Madhya Pradesh government is launching a six-month Public Trust Campaign starting today. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the initiative in Chhindwara at around 12:30 PM on Friday.
Under this campaign, ministers, senior officials, and district administration officers will engage with the public every Friday. Their role will be to meet citizens directly, listen to their concerns, and assess the implementation of government schemes at the grassroots level.
With the BJP government completing two and a half years in office, the second half of its five-year term has begun. The opposition has intensified its criticism of the state government regarding governance and public issues. In response, the government has initiated this campaign to enhance direct communication with the public.
According to the government, the aim of the Public Trust Campaign is to establish direct contact between the administration and the citizens. It seeks to ensure timely resolution of complaints, gather feedback on the implementation of schemes, and enhance accountability within the administration.
An official statement noted, “The objective of the Public Trust Campaign is to engage directly with people in the field, ensure 100% resolution of complaints and issues, gather feedback on ground realities, strengthen the administrative monitoring mechanism, and create a transparent and sensitive image of the administration.”
Every Friday, field visits will take place across the state as part of the campaign. No official meetings will be scheduled on this day, except for essential work. Senior officials from the state secretariat to district headquarters will visit villages and towns to listen to public grievances and inspect government programs.
Collectors have been instructed to identify areas to be covered each week and review pending complaints related to the CM Helpline, public hearings, and the Public Service Guarantee Act before the visits.
The government aims to resolve pending issues before the field visits. Complaints and applications received during the campaign will be addressed on-site.
Additionally, ‘Jan Samvad’ (Public Dialogue) and ‘Udyog Samvad’ (Industry Dialogue) programs will also be conducted, facilitating discussions between ordinary citizens and entrepreneurs from the MSME and cottage industry sectors.
Officials will inspect schools, anganwadi centers, health centers, fair price shops, and public works. They will also review welfare schemes such as Farmer ID creation, Ayushman Bharat cards, Samagra ID e-KYC, and the Prime Minister‘s Housing Scheme.
