Hyderabad, March 30: Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvati, General Secretary of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), stated on Sunday that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu lacks the moral authority to lead the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Lakshmi Parvati, the second wife of the late N.T. Rama Rao (NTR), founder of the TDP, accused Naidu of completely undermining NTR’s ideals. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, she claimed that Naidu deceitfully seized control of the party from NTR, thus he has no right to invoke NTR’s name.
She alleged that TDP leaders are merely staging a performance on the party’s foundation day while ignoring the core principles upon which NTR established the party. According to her, Naidu is running the TDP without any ethical values and has weakened NTR’s legacy.
Lakshmi Parvati labeled Naidu a “credit thief” leader, asserting that he not only took over the party but also sidelined its ideology and welfare vision. She accused him of eroding discipline and morality within the TDP, transforming it into a party driven by opportunistic alliances.
She criticized Naidu for discontinuing “poor-friendly” policies, such as the ₹2 per kilogram rice scheme, and recalled instances when protests against rising electricity rates were suppressed by force.
Parvati questioned why no action has been taken against TDP leaders accused of misconduct. Comparing governance, she emphasized that Naidu cannot match the welfare and development model of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in any aspect.
Meanwhile, YSRCP MLC Arun Kumar Monditoka stated that Naidu deceived NTR and disregarded his ideals and welfare measures to seize power from him. He alleged that TDP is engaging in unethical political maneuvers and that Naidu is indeed afflicted with a “credit theft” mentality.
Monditoka further remarked that the grand statements made on the foundation day do not impact the public, as they will never forget Naidu’s deceitful methods of taking over the TDP.
He also claimed that Naidu did not recommend NTR’s name for the Bharat Ratna award and created obstacles when Lakshmi Parvati and YSRCP applied for it.
Targeting Naidu and Andhra Pradesh’s ministers, along with his son Nara Lokesh, Monditoka stated, “The claims made by this father-son duo about job creation are outright lies and should be substantiated with a detailed white paper.”
