1500 CCTV footages and advanced technical investigation lead to success
Jaipur, October 15 (Daily Kiran): In a major success against rising burglary incidents, Nagaur Police have arrested the kingpin of an inter-state Bawaria gang, bringing a significant breakthrough in a series of high-value thefts across the region.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Mridul Kachhawa, and supervision of Additional SP Sumit Kumar and Circle Officer Rampratap Vishnoi, a police team led by Kotwali SHO Vedpal Shivran carried out the operation that led to the arrest.
Series of Burglaries Solved
On September 23, burglars broke into the locked house of Mulchand Latial in Nagaur and stole 14 tolas of gold jewellery, silver ornaments, and ₹7 lakh in cash. The police focused their investigation not only on this case but also on six other similar break-ins — including incidents in Nagaur, Merta City, and surrounding areas.
The arrested accused has been identified as Rajesh Bawaria, son of Laxman alias Totaram (19), resident of Haripura, Naren Police Station area, Jaipur Rural, and was caught from Rozdi near the district border.
1500 CCTV Footages Scrutinized
Special teams formed to crack the case undertook extensive investigations, analyzing over 1,500 CCTV footage clips from Nagaur, Merta City, Bikaner, Ajmer, and Jaipur, including toll plaza recordings. Based on technical surveillance and intelligence gathering, police identified members of the Bawaria gang.
During interrogation using psychological techniques, the accused Rajesh Bawaria confessed to his involvement in multiple burglaries in Nagaur and Merta City along with his gang members. Rajesh was confirmed as the leader of the gang, which consists of 10 to 15 members operating in an organized manner.
Modus Operandi
The gang members used to survey isolated houses during the day and strike when residents were away. They operated using vehicles with fake or no number plates, breaking into locked houses while some members kept watch outside. For self-defense and intimidation, the gang carried slingshots, stones, and wooden sticks.
SP Mridul Kachhawa said that further interrogation is expected to reveal connections of the gang with several other burglaries across Nagaur, Merta, Didwana, Bikaner, Ajmer, Pali, Sirohi, and Jaipur. Special police teams are now conducting raids at possible hideouts to nab the absconding members of the gang.
