Mukuls Stellar Performance Secures Victory for LSG, Says Rahane

Kolkata, April 10: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batsman Mukul Chaudhary’s remarkable half-century led his team to a thrilling victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane praised Mukul’s performance, attributing the win to his outstanding innings.

Batting first, KKR scored 181 runs, losing 4 wickets in the process. In response, LSG achieved victory on the last ball with 3 wickets remaining. Ayush Badoni and Mukul Chaudhary both contributed significantly, scoring 54 runs each.

Mukul Chaudhary played a sensational innings, remaining unbeaten on 54 runs off just 27 balls, which included 7 sixes and 2 fours. Needing 30 runs in the final 2 overs, Mukul led his team to an exhilarating win. He hit 2 sixes and a four in the 19th over, followed by another 2 sixes in the final over to snatch victory from KKR.

After the loss, KKR’s captain Ajinkya Rahane expressed, “Accepting defeat is tough, but I am proud of how we played. Mukul’s innings was crucial. It’s natural to have a few lapses in the last two overs, but credit goes to Mukul for that partnership.”

Rahane added, “They (LSG) had nothing to lose. They needed 30 runs in 2 overs, so they played their shots freely. Some deliveries were good, but he batted exceptionally well.”

He further noted, “When you lose a match, it becomes easier to understand where we could have improved. Scoring around 180 on this wicket was not easy. We must give full credit to the batsman for his performance. We aimed to keep Avesh on strike, which forced us to have five fielders inside the circle, creating a challenging situation for the bowlers.”
