Monsoon Withdraws

Ranchi, October 14 (Daily Kiran): The southwest monsoon has officially withdrawn from Jharkhand, marking the arrival of the season’s first touch of winter across the state. Residents are now experiencing pleasant mornings and evenings, with mild sunshine adding warmth during the day.

Monsoon Withdraws

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather across Jharkhand will remain mainly dry in the coming days. However, from Wednesday, some districts are likely to witness partly cloudy skies, which could lead to a slight rise in daytime temperatures by 1–2°C. The weather is expected to clear up again from October 20, followed by a drop in temperatures.

Meteorologists said that Jharkhand received almost double the normal rainfall this monsoon season, which could result in a harsher winter this year. The cold wave is expected to intensify after Diwali and Chhath Puja, especially across the northern and central parts of the state.

Over the last 24 hours, Jamshedpur recorded the highest temperature at 33.8°C, while Latehar was the coldest at 16.3°C. On Tuesday, Ranchi recorded a maximum of 29.8°C, Daltonganj 32°C, Bokaro 32.5°C, and Chaibasa 33.8°C.

With clear skies and cooler winds beginning to flow, Jharkhand is set to transition into a pleasant autumn phase before the onset of sharp winter chills in November.
