Mika Singh Defends Daler Mehndi Amid Controversy with Uttarakhand Minister

Mika Singh speaks out in defense of Daler Mehndi, criticizing Minister Subodh Uniyal for his remarks during a recent event in Uttarakhand.

Mumbai, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : During a recent press conference, singer Mika Singh addressed the controversy surrounding fellow artist Daler Mehndi and Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, which erupted at the Kunjapuri Mela in New Tehri.

Mika Singh placed the blame squarely on Uniyal, urging him to take responsibility for his actions. He expressed gratitude to Mehndi’s supporters, stating, “I want to thank the Bollywood industry, the people of Punjab, and all the fans of Daler Mehndi for their overwhelming support. It was disheartening to see how he was treated. Nowadays, even children in schools or colleges aren’t spoken to in such a manner. I doubt anyone spoke to me like that during my struggle.”

The singer recalled a childhood incident, saying, “I once got scolded for eating before guests arrived at a wedding.”

Singh criticized Uniyal’s allegations that Mehndi’s brother, Daljeet, was intoxicated and unable to stand on stage. He defended Daljeet, asserting that such claims are damaging to his reputation and unfounded.

Mika also mentioned that singer Sunanda Sharma was scheduled to perform but canceled at the last minute, possibly due to health issues or personal reasons. He highlighted that despite feeling unwell, Daler Mehndi had stepped in to help a friend, performing live for 90 minutes without any pre-recorded tracks.
