New Delhi, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : Bollywood’s timeless romantic classic, “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (DDLJ), continues to enchant audiences worldwide. Recently, Robert Maxian, the Slovak Ambassador to India, shared his fondness for the film, reminiscing about its impact during his years in India. In a video posted on the social media platform X, he recited the famous dialogue, “Chhote-chhote shehron se…” and referred to the film, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, as an enduring romantic classic.
On Saturday, Maxian expressed on X that the blockbuster film evokes memories of his time in India. Released in 1995, DDLJ is celebrated for maintaining its popularity over the years. Accompanying his post was a video clip where he delivered the iconic line while driving, saying, “Koi baat nahi senorita, bade-bade shehron mein chhoti-chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain.”
The film features Shah Rukh Khan as Raj Malhotra and Kajol as Simran Singh. Their love story, coupled with themes of familial respect and a journey from Europe to Punjab, has become synonymous with the film. Directed by Aditya Chopra, DDLJ redefined romance in Hindi cinema and secured a special place in the hearts of generations of viewers.
The dialogue “Chhote-chhote shehron se…” remains one of the film’s most memorable lines, cementing the characters and their story in the audience’s memory. Maxian frequently praises India’s beauty, language, and diversity on his official account. In June, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to Slovakia, he welcomed the PM in Hindi through a video message on X, emphasizing the historic significance of the visit and expressing hope for strengthened ties between India and Slovakia.
