Uttar Pradesh BDO Faces FIR After Viral Video of Misconduct
A BDO in Uttar Pradeshs Kasganj district is under investigation after a viral video showed him threatening staff in his office.
Kasganj, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : A shocking incident has emerged from Kasganj district in Uttar Pradesh, where a Block Development Officer (BDO) was filmed displaying inappropriate behavior in his office. The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows BDO Sanjeev Kumar openly threatening staff and demanding illegal payments.
In the footage, Kumar is seen seated at his desk, intimidating a subordinate while saying, “Make sure to give me the full amount, and don’t play politics.” He further disregards the dignity of his position, using abusive language and threatening to send the employee to jail.
The video has caused a stir in administrative circles, prompting District Development Officer (DDO) Subhash Chandra to label the incident as a clear example of corruption and a violation of official duties. Following Chandra’s complaint, the police at Patiali Kotwali have registered a case against Kumar under serious charges.
In response to the incident, the administration has taken a firm stance. The responsibility for conducting a fair investigation has been assigned to Amit Kumar, the area officer of Patiali. It remains to be seen what actions will be taken against the BDO following the viral video and the FIR. Currently, this incident has become a hot topic of discussion from Patiali to Kasganj.
