Los Angeles, March 29: Hollywood actor and director Matthew Lillard recently shared a humorous anecdote about a comment that earned him a reprimand from his wife. He also revealed some important insights about his married life.
During an interview on the “Everything Iconic” podcast, host Danny Pellegrino asked Lillard whom he would choose for the title of “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2026. Lillard jokingly named young Hollywood actor Jacob Elordi. He recounted, “I once called Jacob ‘delicious’ in front of everyone, but my wife, Heather Helm, did not appreciate it. She said that a married man shouldn’t make such comments.”
Lillard mentioned that he and Heather have been married since 2000 and have three children together. Maintaining a strong relationship over such a long time is not easy, but they have adopted a special approach that keeps their bond intact.
He explained, “The most important rule in our relationship is that we never go to bed angry. Even if we have an argument, we resolve it before the day ends. We sit down, acknowledge our mistakes, and apologize to each other.”
Lillard added, “Often, the real reason for a fight is something deeper, but it may appear trivial on the surface. Therefore, it’s crucial to understand the underlying issue and work on it.”
During the conversation, he also shared an interesting perspective about his children. He noted, “My kids are not particularly excited about my film career. They don’t care whether their father is a famous actor or not. For them, the most important things are love, security, and togetherness from their parents.”
