Massive Fire Engulfs Scrap Warehouses in Vapi, Gujarat

Vapi, March 30: A devastating fire broke out late Sunday night in Vapi, Gujarat, causing panic throughout the area. The blaze spread rapidly, engulfing approximately 20 to 25 scrap warehouses, which were completely reduced to ashes.

According to reports, the fire ignited near the Madina Mosque in the Dungri Falia area of Valsad district. It quickly escalated into a massive inferno, occurring late at night when most residents were at home. The towering flames and thick smoke created an atmosphere of fear in the vicinity.

Local residents reported that the intensity of the fire was so severe that its heat could be felt from nearly half a kilometer away, with flames visible from as far as five kilometers.

Upon receiving news of the fire, multiple teams from the Vapi Fire Brigade rushed to the scene. Firefighters have been tirelessly working to control the blaze. However, the ferocity of the flames has made it challenging to extinguish the fire. Water tankers and other resources are being utilized on-site.

The police inspector from Dungra police station and his team were also present at the scene. In the interest of safety, nearby areas have been evacuated to prevent any untoward incidents. A sense of fear and chaos was evident among local residents, while authorities worked to relocate people to safer locations.

Preliminary estimates suggest that the fire has caused millions of rupees in damage, as the scrap warehouses contained a significant amount of flammable materials. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties so far.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Authorities have initiated an investigation, and the true reason will likely emerge once the fire is extinguished. According to the fire brigade’s initial assessment, a short circuit is suspected as the cause. Investigations are ongoing, and the exact cause of the fire will be determined soon.
