Patna, April 3: A joint team of police and administration conducted a raid in Sasaram on Friday evening. This operation led to the uncovering of alleged immoral activities at two marriage halls, resulting in the detention of over 50 men and women.
According to the Circle Officer of Bikramganj Range, the action was initiated based on intelligence regarding suspicious illegal activities at Prakash Marriage Hall in the Maliabagh area and a nearby location. A special team, led by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), executed a coordinated operation with a heavy police presence. All entry and exit points of the premises were sealed during the raid to prevent anyone from escaping.
Officials reported that immoral activities were allegedly taking place inside the halls. The sudden nature of the raid caused panic and chaos among those present. However, due to the strict security measures, no one was able to flee.
The police detained everyone present in both marriage hall complexes for questioning. All detainees are currently in police custody, and their identities and backgrounds are being verified. Authorities stated that detailed facts of the case would emerge after thorough questioning and investigation.
The Circle Officer mentioned that the process of filing FIRs against the owners and managers of both marriage halls is underway. Efforts are being made to arrest them. This is a serious matter for us, as it sends a wrong message to society.
The large-scale detention indicates the presence of an organized immoral gang operating in Rohtas district. A significant police force was deployed throughout the operation, ensuring complete control over the area.
Officials have indicated that further actions will be based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
