Bengaluru, July 29: Marvel Technology, an American semiconductor company, announced on Wednesday that it will invest $250 million in India over the next three years. This investment aims to enhance the company’s research and development (R&D) capabilities, engineering talent, and infrastructure. The company believes that India is rapidly becoming a crucial player in the global semiconductor industry.
This investment coincides with the 20th anniversary of Marvel’s operations in India. As part of this initiative, Marvel plans to double its workforce in the country over the next three years.
Under the expansion plan, the company has inaugurated a new wing at its Bengaluru office. Additionally, it is increasing its presence in Hyderabad to accelerate the design and development of advanced semiconductor solutions related to artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and data infrastructure.
Naveen Bishnoi, Vice President and Country Manager for India at Marvel, stated that India has evolved into a strategic engineering hub for the company. It plays a significant role in developing infrastructure technologies used by leading hyperscalers and cloud service providers worldwide.
“India has become a strategic center of engineering excellence for Marvel. Our team here is making vital contributions to the development of the infrastructure technologies that underpin the services of the world’s leading hyperscalers and cloud providers,” Bishnoi said.
He expressed gratitude towards the company’s customers, partners, government institutions, educational entities, and especially the dedicated team in India, whose innovation and expertise have significantly contributed to the company’s success.
Marvel began its operations in India in 2006 from Bengaluru. Since then, it has developed India into its second-largest R&D center globally.
Currently, the company has engineering centers in Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad, where teams are working on cutting-edge areas such as 2-nanometer and beyond semiconductor process technology, high-speed analog intellectual property (IP), subsystem design, software and firmware development, and end-to-end silicon engineering.
According to the company, its engineering teams in India are contributing to several key technology platforms, holding numerous patents, and extensively utilizing advanced AI tools to enhance engineering productivity and accelerate the development of new products.
Marvel also stated that, in addition to expanding engineering capabilities, it is continuously investing in strengthening India’s broader semiconductor ecosystem by collaborating with universities, startups, industry organizations, and government entities.
