New Delhi, March 16: In Sanatan Dharma, the Panchang is essential for determining auspicious and inauspicious times. Tuesday, March 17, marks the monthly Shivratri, dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This day is considered particularly significant for devotees.

On this day, followers observe a fast and offer water, milk, bel leaves, and flowers to the Shiva Lingam. According to the Panchang, several important yogas and timings are favorable for worship and the commencement of new ventures.

According to the Drik Panchang, sunrise will occur at 6:29 AM, and sunset will be at 6:30 PM. The date features the Krishna Paksha Trayodashi, lasting until 9:23 AM, after which Chaturdashi begins. This Chaturdashi is celebrated as the monthly Shivratri. The Shatabhisha Nakshatra will be in effect until 6:09 AM the following day, transitioning to the Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra. The Siddha Yoga will last until 8:15 AM, followed by the Sadhya Yoga, which will continue until 6:22 AM the next day. The Vanij Karan will be effective until 9:23 AM, and the Vrishti Karan will last until 8:59 PM.

For auspicious timings, Brahma Muhurat will be from 4:53 AM to 5:41 AM, Abhijit Muhurat from 12:06 PM to 12:54 PM, Vijay Muhurat from 2:30 PM to 3:18 PM, and the Ghodhuli Muhurat from 6:28 PM to 6:52 PM. The most significant Amrit Kaal will occur from 11:01 PM to 12:36 AM, regarded as the best time for worship and chanting.

Regarding inauspicious times, Rahu Kaal will be from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, Yamagand from 9:29 AM to 10:59 AM, and Gulika Kaal from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. Bhadra will be in effect from 9:23 AM to 8:59 PM, and Panchak will be active throughout the day. The Adal Yoga will also persist all day long.
