New Delhi, May 20: Manan Kumar Mishra, a Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), praised the announcement of a ‘Naxal-free India’ as a significant achievement under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He accused the Congress party of fostering Naxalism and claimed that during their tenure, development in Naxal-affected regions was neglected.
In an interview, Mishra stated, “Naxalism was hollowing out our country from within. It was a very serious issue. Some of our states, including Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and parts of Bihar, were heading towards destruction. This hindered the development of tribal areas. The Congress party consistently promoted this problem.”
He further added, “Instead of fostering development and connecting people in Naxal-affected areas to mainstream society through education and basic amenities like electricity and water, Congress supported the Naxalites. Under the leadership of our Union Home Minister Amit Shah, efforts have been made to eliminate Naxalism, which is in the interest of the nation as well as the tribal and marginalized communities. This is indeed a historic task.”
Mishra emphasized, “Naxalism has been completely eradicated from our country. Development is now taking place in previously affected areas. There is peace, and education is being promoted. Provisions for electricity and water are being made for the people there. Those associated with Naxalism are now integrating into the mainstream.”
It is noteworthy that Amit Shah declared India ‘Naxal-free’ from the Bastar region, which was once synonymous with Naxalism. He stated that merely being Naxal-free is not enough; the goal is to transform Bastar into a fully ‘developed’ region by 2031.
During this discussion, MP Manan Kumar Mishra also addressed the ongoing fuel crisis in the country. He remarked, “This crisis is a global issue. In such a situation, the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are doing everything possible. In my view, Prime Minister Modi is making the most efforts on this issue worldwide.”
