
Ahmedabad, April 18: A man has been arrested in Ahmedabad for allegedly threatening Bihar’s newly appointed Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary. The arrest was made by the Sanand police team on Friday, according to officials.
The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Shekhar Yadav. Investigators tracked his location using mobile surveillance and intelligence information before apprehending him on the Sanand-Kadi road.
The case was initially registered on April 15 at the Sangrampur police station in Munger district, Bihar, where the Chief Minister received a threatening phone call at his office.
An FIR was filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 2023, including sections 351(2), 351(3), 351(4), 352, 353, and 224, pertaining to criminal threats and related offenses.
Following this, the Munger district police contacted Ahmedabad Rural SP Om Prakash Jat to share information, as they learned that the suspect was in Gujarat.
DSP Aastha Rana from Ahmedabad Rural stated that a case was registered on April 15 at the Sangrampur police station in Munger after a threatening call was made to the Chief Minister’s office.
She further explained that the successful operation was a result of coordination between the police forces of both states. The SP of Munger district and SP Om Prakash Jat from Ahmedabad Rural communicated and shared information regarding the case, confirming that the suspect was in Sanand.
A team led by Sanand police inspector B.T. Gohil maintained continuous contact with Bihar police, utilizing technical surveillance and human intelligence to locate the suspect.
Authorities reported that the suspect resided in the Sanand area and worked for a private company involved in transportation.
Rana mentioned that the team successfully apprehended the individual through technical surveillance and human intelligence. His name is Shekhar Yadav, and he has been in the area for three to four months working for a company.
