Lucknow, August 23: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the vital role of school cooks in the PM Poshan scheme, stating that the cooking fire in school kitchens does more than prepare meals; it fuels the health, education, and bright futures of millions of children. He recognized the cooks, referred to as “Rasoiya Maatayein-Bahnein,” as the true backbone of the PM Poshan initiative.
In a post on the social media platform X, CM Yogi reiterated that these dedicated cooks contribute significantly to the well-being of children. He announced the launch of cashless medical cards for 354,000 mid-day meal cooks, symbolizing the government’s commitment to their health and dignity.
This initiative reflects the gratitude of the “Double Engine Government” towards the labor of these cooks and its commitment to ensuring their safe and respectful lives. A ceremony honoring these cooks and distributing cashless medical cards is set to take place in Lucknow, where 11 cooks will be recognized on stage, with participation from 1,500 cooks across the state.
Additionally, similar honor ceremonies will be organized at the district and tehsil levels, ensuring a unified message of respect for cooks throughout the state. This initiative is a significant step towards publicly acknowledging the contributions of cooks who effectively implement the PM Poshan scheme.
The event will include participation from cooks working in government, aided, and unaided primary and upper primary schools under the PM Poshan scheme. Extensive preparations have been made at both state and local levels to honor these cooks.
On August 23, ceremonies will also be held at the district and tehsil levels, with directives to ensure the presence of MPs, ministers, MLAs, district panchayat presidents, and other representatives. The district administration has been instructed to utilize available venues for the events and ensure proper arrangements for honoring the cooks.
At the state-level ceremony, CM Yogi Adityanath will honor 11 cooks on stage, with 1,500 cooks participating from various districts.
