Maharashtra Chief Minister Emphasizes Transparency and Reliability in Governance

Mumbai, March 28: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stressed the importance of transparency, strict timelines, and reliability across all government departments. He emphasized that these three pillars are essential for citizens to benefit from all schemes through a single platform, aiming to achieve the goal of a ‘Developed Maharashtra.’

Fadnavis made these remarks during a ceremony honoring excellence under the ‘150-Day E-Governance Reform Program.’ During the event, he presented certificates to heads of departments and service personnel who excelled in their performance.

He provided guidance and instructed the Information Technology Department to implement the ‘One State, One Portal’ concept. This initiative aims to create a unified portal to eliminate confusion arising from multiple government websites.

Accessibility to government services for citizens should be the top priority, he emphasized. Additionally, a specific ‘Maha ID’ system will be developed for citizens. This ID will serve as a single access point for all government schemes, aiding in data filtering and preventing service misuse.

The Chief Minister also directed the Chief Secretary to establish a timeline for transitioning departmental operations from ‘Paper to No Paper’ through the e-office system.

During the program, he inaugurated the ‘MahaSarthi’ portal, describing it as a comprehensive data bank. He noted that the website consolidates all government data, facilitating seamless communication between departments.

Furthermore, an integrated data exchange for planning, implementation, and monitoring is being developed in Maharashtra to support data-driven decision-making. To provide 24/7 services, the state will enhance the use of advanced technologies like generative artificial intelligence, chatbots, and blockchain.
