Bhopal, April 15: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has emphasized that providing uninterrupted and affordable electricity to farmers is a top priority for the state government. During a review meeting on Wednesday regarding the progress of ongoing schemes in the Renewable Energy Department, the CM reiterated the commitment to ensure that farmers have access to low-cost electricity.
He stated that the government is ready to offer all necessary assistance to farmers. With affordable electricity, farmers can increase their production and contribute to the state’s overall progress.
CM Mohan Yadav also mentioned the importance of empowering farmers to become energy producers according to their needs. He advocated for connecting farmers with green energy production, asserting that self-reliance in energy production is key to improving farmers’ living standards.
He urged departmental officials to remain dedicated and focused on the goal of providing affordable electricity to both farmers and citizens for the benefit of the state. The CM called for an accelerated implementation of the Prime Minister’s Solar Home Scheme and connecting over two hundred thousand farmers to solar pumps by the end of this fiscal year.
Furthermore, he advised the department to review its annual targets and adjust them according to new requirements to maximize benefits in a shorter time frame. The department should also establish a timeline for the implementation of these goals to achieve faster and better results.
The CM noted that all urban bodies can generate good income by selling waste and making rapid progress in the Prime Minister’s Solar Home Scheme (Rooftop Scheme). A one-day orientation program should be organized in Bhopal to train officials and representatives of urban bodies on this matter. This program should be conducted soon to provide urban bodies with ample time to execute their tasks.
