Bhopal, April 1: The government of Madhya Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, is celebrating this year as the “Farmer Welfare Year.” Various farmer-friendly decisions are being implemented to support the agricultural community.
In this context, CM Mohan Yadav announced that combined harvesters used in agricultural work will be exempt from toll fees at toll plazas. During a meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation’s board, held at the Chief Minister’s residence, Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to farmer welfare.
As part of the “Prosperous Farmers, Prosperous State” initiative for 2026, several decisions have been made in favor of farmers. The exemption from toll collection for combined harvesters will reduce transportation costs, positively impacting the prices of agricultural produce. This decision is expected to benefit farmers significantly.
The meeting, chaired by CM Yadav and attended by Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh and Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, also approved the construction of the Indore-Ujjain Greenfield route and the Ujjain-Javra Greenfield route as non-access-controlled projects. The board granted in-principle approval for the revised alignment of the West Bhopal bypass. Discussions on annual reports and other managerial matters were also held during the meeting, which included the presence of Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Dubey, Manish Rastogi, Principal Secretary of Public Works Sukbir Singh, Principal Secretary of Forest Sandeep Yadav, and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Bharat Yadav.
