Bhopal, May 13: In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to reduce diesel and petrol consumption, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has removed the pilot and follow vehicle facilities from his convoy. Previously, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also reduced the number of vehicles in his convoy.
Following Prime Minister Modi’s call to strengthen the country’s energy security and promote the prudent use of petroleum fuels, Deputy Chief Minister Shukla has returned the pilot and follow vehicle services, including the associated staff.
He stated that the Prime Minister has urged citizens to make fuel conservation a public movement, emphasizing that saving petroleum fuels is not only an economic issue but also crucial for future generations, environmental protection, and national interest. The government is committed to the responsible and optimal use of resources in the public interest.
Earlier, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav decided to cut down on the number of vehicles in his convoy, stating that Madhya Pradesh is committed to reducing petrol and diesel consumption in the national interest, as per Prime Minister Modi’s call. Until further notice, his convoy will have a minimum number of vehicles for security reasons, and there will be no vehicle rallies during travel.
All ministers will also utilize a minimal number of vehicles during their travels. Additionally, newly appointed corporation and board officials will assume their duties with simplicity. The Chief Minister’s convoy will now consist of only eight vehicles instead of the previous thirteen.
