Hyderabad, August 6: BJP leader Kompella Madhavi Lata has expressed support for Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s recent remarks regarding madrasas. She emphasized her concern for the curriculum and future of children studying in these institutions.
In an exclusive interview, Madhavi Lata highlighted that some madrasas isolate children from mainstream society. She raised critical questions about the content taught in madrasas and the mindset being cultivated among students.
The BJP leader claimed that certain madrasas instill feelings of animosity towards the nation and foster distance from other communities. She alleged that from a young age, children are led to believe that their Hindu neighbors are not friends but adversaries.
Madhavi Lata further pointed out that these children are often deprived of English and modern education, limiting their future employment opportunities. She described this as an injustice that impacts both their mindset and future prospects.
She stressed that this issue goes beyond merely supporting a statement; it is about reforming the education system. According to her, English education should be introduced in madrasas to help children connect with the world and access better opportunities.
Madhavi Lata also advocated for instilling a sense of patriotism in children attending madrasas. She suggested that they should be taught to sing ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Jana Gana Mana,’ as well as to chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai.’
