Leon Goretzka to Leave Bayern Munich After This Season

Leon Goretzka has confirmed that he will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the current season. The midfielder put an end to recent transfer rumours by announcing that he plans to stay with the club until the summer before starting a new chapter in his career.

In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Goretzka said, “Dear fans, the last few days have been more turbulent than expected. At the same time, they’ve brought clarity: As much as I’m honoured by the interest from top international clubs, I’ve made a clear decision that I want to stay with FC Bayern until the end of the season.”

He praised the team environment and the coach’s leadership, stating, “With a team that’s incredibly fun to be around, both on and off the pitch, and a coach who has moulded our squad back into a true unit, I feel a deep commitment to this team and the club. Our shared goal is to be back at Marienplatz in May, celebrating the biggest titles together with YOU!”

Goretzka also revealed that the club and he have mutually agreed to part ways this summer after constructive discussions. “It’s also the right time for me to start a new chapter as a footballer and as a person. But there’s still a lot to do before then,” he added, urging everyone to give their best for success this season and at the upcoming World Cup.

After eight years with Bayern Munich, the midfielder’s long tenure with the German giants is drawing to a close. Throughout his time at the club, Goretzka has shown strong dedication and professionalism. Fans will hope that his final months at Bayern end on a high note with trophies and memorable performances.

How this decision will affect Bayern Munich’s campaign remains to be seen, but Goretzka’s commitment until season’s end is clear as he aims to finish strong with both club and country.
