
New Delhi, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : On September 13, leaders across India paid homage to the legendary revolutionary Jatindranath Das on his death anniversary. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah led the tributes, emphasizing that Das’s sacrifices continue to inspire the nation towards service.
In a post on social media platform ‘X,’ Shah expressed deep respect, stating, “On the death anniversary of the immortal revolutionary Jatindranath Das, I bow with utmost reverence. Choosing to fight against British rule at a young age, Das remained resolute despite the tortures he faced in prison. His hunger strike against the inhumane treatment of freedom fighters stands as an eternal symbol of patriotism and courage. His sacrifice will always motivate our citizens to serve the nation.”
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari also honored Das, writing, “On the death anniversary of the great freedom fighter and revolutionary Jatindranath Das, I pay my humble respects.”
Union Minister of Power, Manohar Lal, noted the significance of Das’s 63-day hunger strike, which he said shook the British Empire. He stated, “I pay my humble tribute on the sacrifice day of the great revolutionary and immortal martyr Jatindranath Das, who dedicated everything for his motherland. The nation will always take pride in his contributions.”
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta remarked on Das’s unwavering dedication to India’s freedom, saying, “The sacrifice and commitment of the immortal revolutionary Jatindranath Das were unparalleled. Not even a 63-day fast could deter his steadfast resolve. I respectfully pay homage to this great martyr who gave everything for the nation.”
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also shared his tributes, stating, “On the death anniversary of the immortal revolutionary and great freedom fighter Shaheed Jatindranath Das, I bow with countless respects. His sacrifices, struggles, and supreme sacrifice for the country’s freedom will forever inspire our nation.”
