Mumbai, March 15: Lava has introduced a new addition to its budget 5G lineup in India with the launch of the Bold 2 5G. This model serves as the successor to last year’s Bold 5G.
The Bold 2 5G boasts a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Unlike the curved panel of its predecessor, Lava has chosen a 2.5D display, which many users find more practical for daily use, reducing the chances of accidental touches. The device retains the in-display fingerprint scanner from the previous model.
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset, the Bold 2 5G replaces the Dimensity 6300 found in its predecessor. It features 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of storage, along with support for virtual RAM expansion of up to 6GB. The phone ships with Android 15, ensuring a clean software experience without unnecessary pre-installed apps.
In terms of photography, the Bold 2 5G includes a 50MP main sensor and a secondary camera for depth or macro shots. On the front, it features an 8MP selfie camera, which is a downgrade from the 16MP selfie camera in the previous model.
The battery capacity is standard for this category, with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging. Lava claims that this battery will comfortably last a full day with typical usage.
Despite housing a large battery, the device remains slim at just 7.55mm. Additionally, Lava has incorporated IP64 dust and water resistance, a feature not commonly found in this price range.
The Lava Bold 2 5G will be available in Feather White and Midnight Black color options. Pricing starts at ₹12,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, which includes bank offers and coupons. The phone is set to go on sale via Amazon India starting March 19.
