Kuldeep Yadav Named Impact Player of the Series After Leading India to ODI Victory Over West Indies

New Chandigarh, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Kuldeep Yadav has been awarded the ‘Impact Player of the Series’ following India’s 2-1 victory in the ODI series against West Indies. The left-arm wrist-spinner received high praise from team physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar for his exceptional performance, which he delivered while prioritizing his fitness.

In the three-match series, Kuldeep took the most wickets, claiming seven in total, including four in the match held in Thiruvananthapuram. He also made history by becoming the fastest Indian spinner to reach 200 wickets in men’s ODI cricket.

Yogesh Parmar congratulated the team on their series win in a video posted on the BCCI’s social media accounts. He emphasized that the award is given to a player who consistently performs well throughout the series. “He has also achieved the milestone of 200 wickets in ODIs, which is another accomplishment. He was the leading wicket-taker in this series and consistently delivered great performances,” Parmar noted.

Accepting the award, Kuldeep credited his teammates, including captain Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul, and Rohit Sharma, for laying the groundwork with their batting. He also highlighted the training camp in Thiruvananthapuram, which helped him find his rhythm before the series began.

“First of all, congratulations on winning the series. A lot of credit goes to Shubhi, Virat bhai, KL bhai, and Rohit bhai for their batting,” Kuldeep said. “This award means a lot to me, especially since we had some sessions in Trivandrum before the series. I felt I was in great form, and I wanted to maintain that through the matches. Fortunately, everything went well, so this is very special. Thank you.”
