Chandigarh, April 21: Haryana’s Minister of Industries and Commerce, Rao Narbir Singh, stated on Tuesday that the 135-kilometer Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway will serve as a gateway to the vision of ‘Developed India 2047’ and will be a major driver of the state’s industrial growth.
He announced that the government has established the Panchgram Development Authority to develop five new towns along the expressway, considering the projected population by 2031. This corridor will be developed based on the Singapore model, making the area a hub for modern urbanization and industrial expansion.
Emphasizing the significance of the National Capital Region (NCR) in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s long-term vision, the minister highlighted that the KMP Expressway will provide robust connectivity and world-class infrastructure, accelerating investment, employment, and economic activities. He also mentioned that the state has made significant amendments to its industrial policy to further promote development.
He stressed that the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) should not limit itself to revenue generation but also focus on providing efficient services, swift approvals, and creating an investor-friendly environment.
Discussing future plans, Rao Narbir Singh revealed that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced the establishment of ten new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) by 2030, five of which have already been approved and are under development.
He further noted that the budget allocation for the industry department has significantly increased over the past year, with plans for further enhancements in the upcoming budget.
These five new towns are expected to emerge as major centers of attraction and economic activity, while also alleviating the population pressure on Delhi.
He added that with seamless connectivity to Delhi and being located just about 30 minutes from both IGI Airport and the upcoming Jewar Airport, this area presents an extremely attractive destination for both domestic and global investors.
