
New Delhi, February 19: Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju launched a monitoring app on Thursday aimed at addressing infrastructure deficiencies under the Prime Minister’s Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK). He also unveiled a Hajj wristband and an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot.
Minister Rijiju praised the team from the Ministry of Minority Affairs during the ‘Chintan Shivir’ held at Nalanda University, highlighting that Nalanda symbolizes India’s ancient civilization and is a center of excellence.
The monitoring app is designed to enhance transparency, real-time monitoring, and implementation of infrastructure projects in minority-dominated areas. Its goal is to address developmental shortcomings, improve center-state coordination, and advance the vision of a developed India by 2047.
The minister emphasized that discussions during the ‘Chintan Shivir’ would help streamline center-state coordination, increase stakeholder participation, and ensure successful grassroots implementation.
The event saw participation from central and state ministers, senior officials, and experts from relevant fields, who discussed a policy-based roadmap for minority welfare and socio-economic empowerment.
The ministry showcased its key achievements through initiatives like PMJVK, Prime Minister’s Heritage Promotion (PM Vikas), National Minority Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), Integrated Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency & Development (UMEED) central portal, Hajj modernization, and digital initiatives. It also presented its vision to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of a developed India by 2047.
State Minister for Minority Affairs George Kurien stated that the PMJVK scheme plays a crucial role in realizing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India.’ He added that this initiative has contributed to the infrastructural development of minority areas across the country. The PM Vikas, NMDFC, UMEED central portal, and the ministry’s Hajj-related initiatives are all contributing to the welfare and development of minorities.
Secretary of Minority Affairs Chandrashekhar Kumar expressed gratitude to all dignitaries present and commended the state government and Nalanda officials for making the ‘Chintan Shivir’ a success.
The aim of the ‘Chintan Shivir’ is to ensure citizen participation in building a developed India through the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.’
