
New Delhi, June 23: A significant meeting took place between Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Vikram K. Doraiswami, India’s Ambassador to China. The ambassador traveled to New Delhi to discuss the current situation. They reviewed the status of bilateral relations and engaged in extensive discussions about changes in the regional and global strategic landscape.
The meeting focused on assessing the current state of India-China bilateral relations. They also deliberated on ways to enhance and strengthen existing mechanisms for dialogue and cooperation.
Notably, both parties emphasized the need to promote mutual understanding and cooperation amid the continuously evolving geopolitical circumstances. In a related development, the Indian Army has taken a significant step towards accelerating indigenous digital transformation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zoho Corporation. This initiative aligns with India’s ‘Jai’ (Jointness, Atmanirbharata, and Innovation) mission, aiming to provide new direction for the army’s technological modernization.
The agreement was signed by Lieutenant General Harsh Chhibber, Director General of Information Systems for the Indian Army, and Rajendran Dandapani, Director of Engineering at Zoho Corporation. The meeting was also attended by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Zoho Corporation’s founder Sridhar Vembu.
The partnership aims to promote application-based research and development, create secure and sustainable digital solutions, and enhance the technical skills of Indian Army personnel. This collaboration will assist in developing the army into a data-driven, technology-enabled force ready for future challenges.
According to the Indian Army, this cooperation will enhance digital innovation, cybersecurity, indigenous technological development, and the use of modern information systems. It will improve operational efficiency and bolster efforts to evolve into a future-oriented, digitally empowered military force. This initiative is seen as a significant milestone in the Indian Army’s modernization campaign, in line with the broader vision of ‘Networking and Data Centricity Year’ and ‘Decade of Transformation.’
