New Delhi, April 21: K. Chandrashekar Rao, the leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has launched a fierce attack on the Congress government in Telangana and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He raised serious concerns regarding the ongoing ‘Hydra’ campaign in Hyderabad and the state’s policies.
KCR stated that the government has initiated a program named “Hydra,” allegedly targeting the homes of the poor and slum dwellers. He accused the administration of demolishing houses under the guise of this campaign, causing distress to vulnerable communities. He emphasized that such actions are against the interests of the public.
In his speech, the BRS leader claimed that during the previous BRS government, significant welfare initiatives were undertaken for the poor. He noted that millions of underprivileged families received housing leases, and no homes were destroyed during his tenure. He also mentioned that the government focused on lake restoration projects, ensuring that no poor person’s hut was demolished.
KCR alleged that the current government’s focus is more on destruction rather than development and rehabilitation. He pointed out that the poorest residents living near the Musi River are facing the brunt of these actions, frequently confronting displacement. He questioned why the poor are being targeted in the name of development.
He further asserted that some government decisions appear to favor land and real estate interests, leading to growing discontent among the common people. KCR expressed confidence that the BRS would return to power in the future and promised to change the current policies.
He concluded his address by urging the government to understand and address the issues faced by the public, rather than implementing measures that complicate their lives.
