Bengaluru, August 8: The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Karnataka has announced a revised schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on August 7, 2026. The final voter list will be published on October 27, 2026, considering October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.
According to the CEO’s office, this revised schedule aligns with the directives issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on August 7, 2026.
As per the new timeline, the door-to-door verification campaign by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), which began on June 30, will continue until August 17. On the same day, the rationalization and restructuring of polling stations will also take place.
The draft of the voter list will be published on August 24. Claims and objections from voters will be accepted starting that day. Voters can submit applications for adding names, making corrections, or removing names until September 23.
From August 24 to October 22, the claims and objections will be processed. After making necessary amendments, the final voter list will be published on October 27.
The CEO’s office stated that the revised schedule aims to inform the public and ensure a smooth voter list revision process across the state.
Meanwhile, the CEO’s office reported that the digitization of Enumeration Forms (EF) under the special intensive revision is nearly complete.
As of June 16, 2026, Karnataka had a total of 55,432,314 registered voters. Enumeration forms were printed and distributed through BLOs, achieving 100% distribution.
The door-to-door enumeration and digitization process, which began on June 30, will conclude on August 8. So far, 55,432,132 forms have been digitized, nearing completion, with only 182 forms remaining.
According to the CEO’s office, 44,448,231 forms (80.18%) have been digitized after being submitted by voters. Additionally, 10,983,901 voters (19.81%) have been marked in the ASDDO category.
The Election Commission has shared the ASDDO list with recognized political parties and made it available to BLOs for verification. Voters who believe they have been incorrectly categorized can contact the relevant BLO or Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) to restore their Enumeration Form.
The CEO’s office also noted that during the revision campaign, 698,698 Enumeration Forms (1.26% of total voters) were submitted online.
To facilitate the registration of new voters in urban areas, particularly in Bengaluru, the Election Commission has printed 1 million Form-6s for distribution to the respective Electoral Registration Officers. These forms will be used for enrolling new voters in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) regions.
