New Delhi, June 12: Following his assumption of office, Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar met with President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday. He also had a discussion with Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan.
The President’s office shared a photo of the meeting on the social media platform X, stating, “Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.”
Earlier, on Thursday, Shivakumar participated in a meeting of the NITI Aayog. He expressed his satisfaction on X, saying, “I was pleased to attend the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and share Karnataka’s vision for inclusive human development. Karnataka remains one of the strongest engines of growth, innovation, and opportunity in India. Through our ‘Guarantee Model’ and investments in education, skilling, youth empowerment, technology, and AI-based governance, we are ensuring that development reaches every segment of society. I emphasized that a developed Karnataka will accelerate the journey towards a developed India and highlighted the importance of cooperative federalism and strong partnerships between the center and states for promoting inclusive and sustainable development.”
On June 10, DK Shivakumar visited Sonia Gandhi’s residence in New Delhi, where he met senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. This was his first visit to 10 Janpath after taking office. During the meeting, he expressed gratitude to the Congress leadership and discussed various issues related to the party and governance.
Previously, Chief Minister DK Shivakumar paid a courtesy visit to the National Women’s Congress office in New Delhi. He was welcomed by National Women’s Congress President Alka Lamba, General Secretary Kamalakshi Rajanna, Shilpi Arora, and other officials.
He also visited the Indian Youth Congress office in New Delhi. Attendees included Congress National Secretary B.V. Srinivas, Indian Youth Congress National President Uday Bhanu Chib, Karnataka Youth Congress President Manjunath Gowda, Congress leader MLC Basanagouda Badarli, Inayat Ali, Nagesh Kariyappa, and several others.
It is noteworthy that on June 3, Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar took the oath as the 25th Chief Minister of the state. The grand ceremony took place at the Glass House in the Lok Bhavan complex in Bengaluru, where Governor Thawarchand Gehlot administered the oath of office and secrecy.
